John 13:34-35 NLT
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Justas I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

1 John 4:7-8 NLT
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE!

Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJ
…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being
rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Four Dimensions of Love:

1. Loving the least

John 3:16 NKJ
“FOR GOD SO LOVED the WORLD that He gave His only begotten
Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life.”

Matthew 25:31-40 NIV
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with
him, he will sit on his glorious throne.”

2. Loving the lost

Matthew 18:11 NKJ
“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.”

Matthew 9:9-13 MSG
Passing along, Jesus saw a man at his work collecting taxes. His
name was Matthew. Jesus said, “Come along with me.” Matthew
stood up and followed him. Later when Jesus was eating supper at
Matthew’s house with his close followers, a lot of disreputable
characters came and joined them. When the Pharisees saw him
keeping this kind of company, they had a fit, and lit into Jesus’
followers. “What kind of example is this from your Teacher, acting
cozy with crooks and riffraff?” Jesus, overhearing, shot back, “Who
needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? Go figure out what this
Scripture means: ‘I’m after mercy, not religion.’ I’m here to invite
outsiders, not coddle insiders.”

3. Loving cross-culturally

Ephesians 2:14-18 NIV
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and
has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting
aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His
purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two,
thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

4. Loving my enemies

Matthew 5:43-48 NKJ
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and
hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those
who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those
who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of
your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on
the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

Romans 12:17-21 NIV
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
